Following his meeting with the Ghana Library Authority (GLA) – Volta Region on March 17, 2025, the Volta Regional Minister, Hon. James Gunu, fulfilled his promise to pay a working visit to the Regional Library. Accompanied by his team, he toured the facility to assess its current state firsthand.

The Regional Director of GLA, Mr. Bright Ofori, led the Minister and his team through the library, where they observed several pressing concerns. Books were on the floor instead of being arranged on shelves, and the building itself was deteriorating, surrounded by overgrown weeds. A dangerous gully, caused by water erosion right behind the building, was widening and posed a serious threat to the new structure.

Additionally, the Minister noted other critical challenges, including the lack of washroom facilities for children and patrons visiting the library.

Hon. James Gunu assured the management of the library that he would engage relevant stakeholders to address some of these pressing issues and help restore the facility to a proper state.
