The Volta Regional Minister, Hon. James Gunu, made an unannounced visit to the Ho Sports Stadium today to assess its condition and identify areas in need of improvement.

During his visit, he met with David Sakyi Cogan, the Regional Sports Development and Promotion Officer under the National Sports Authority, who highlighted several pressing needs, including enhancement of the basketball court, volleyball and handball facilities, repairs to the broken fence, improved toilet facilities, additional seating, sheds, streetlights, and a borehole. Other requirements include a mower, slasher, and fixing of electricity poles and lights.

In response, Hon. Gunu immediately donated six pairs of streetlights and an undisclosed amount of money for poles and electrical work at the stadium. He assured stakeholders that efforts would be made to address the remaining concerns, including structural upgrades and facility enhancements.

His visit underscores the government’s commitment to promoting sports development in the Region.
