The Volta Regional Health Directorate has held its Annual Performance Review Meeting in Ho on 18th March 2025 under the theme: “Strengthening the Primary Healthcare System for Improved Access to Quality Health Service Delivery: The Role of Networks of Practice (NoP).”

Hon. James Gunu, Volta Regional Minister, who was the Guest of Honour, commended health workers for their dedication and resilience in delivering quality healthcare services. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to enhancing primary healthcare, leveraging technology, and improving service delivery. He emphasized that collaboration and innovation are key to achieving a strong healthcare system.

The Chairperson, Prof. Lydia Aziato, Vice Chancellor of UHAS in her remarks, highlighted the need for intentional policies, improved infrastructure, stakeholder involvement, personnel motivation, and specialized training to strengthen primary healthcare.

The review brought together health professionals, policymakers, and stakeholders to assess the region’s healthcare performance, share best practices, and strategize for improvement. The discussions focused on evidence-based, ethical, and technology-driven care, as well as the need for resource sharing and community involvement to enhance health outcomes in the Region.
