Ho Nursing Training College Seeks Support for Transition to Degree Program
The Principal of Ho Nursing Training College, Mrs. Augustina Naa Shorme Noi Ayivor, led a delegation to pay a courtesy call on the Volta Regional Minister, Hon. James Gunu, to formally introduce themselves and discuss key challenges facing the institution.
During the visit, Mrs. Ayivor highlighted that the college is transitioning from a diploma-awarding institution to a degree-awarding one. She appealed for support in developing the necessary infrastructure and other essential facilities to facilitate this transition.
The Chief Director of the Volta Regional Coordinating Council, Mr. Augustus Awity, emphasized the need for the institution to prioritize quality training for nurses, given the critical nature of their profession. He urged the college to produce competent and compassionate healthcare professionals who will uphold high standards in the field.
Hon. James Gunu, in his remarks, commended the nursing profession as a noble calling that requires dedication and excellence. He acknowledged that transitioning to a degree program comes with challenges but assured the college of his commitment to collaborating with relevant stakeholders to address their needs.
The meeting reaffirmed the government’s commitment to strengthening healthcare education in the Volta Region, ensuring that institutions like Ho Nursing Training College receive the necessary support for their growth and impact.
