The Volta Regional Minister, Hon. James Gunu, this afternoon, joined the Minister for Works, Housing and Water Resources, Hon. Kenneth Gilbert Adjei; the Member of the Council of State representing the Volta Region, H.E. Gabriel Tanko Kwamigah-Atokple; representatives of the Volta Regional House of Chiefs; the MCE for Ketu South, Hon. Nicholas Worclachie; the DCE for Anloga, Hon. Sandra Seyram Kpedor; the DCE for Keta, Hon. Wisdom Bondieu Seade; together with political, religious, and other key stakeholders, to visit Agavedzi.

The team inspected progress on Phase 2 of the Blekusu Sea Defence Project. Engineers and contractors briefed the delegation on works completed so far and the next phases toward the full execution of this vital coastal protection intervention. The project is progressing steadily.

The VRCC acknowledges the commitment of H.E. President John Dramani Mahama for prioritising the safety and resilience of coastal communities. The Blekusu Sea Defence Project, alongside several ongoing initiatives across the region, reflects government’s continued dedication to safeguarding lives and livelihoods.

The VRCC will continue to work with all relevant stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of this important project.
