Hon. James Gunu Inspects Destroyed Nfojo Street Alale Adzimah Korfe Bridge in Ho
Hon. James Gunu, the Volta Regional Minister, has visited the Nfojo Street Alale Adzimah Korfe Bridge in Ho, which has been completely destroyed, causing serious gullies and rendering the road unmotorable. The damage has cut off residents from accessing the road, creating a dire situation for the community.
The destruction is a result of excessive water flow from a larger upstream bridge, which overwhelms the smaller bridge at Nfojo Street. The overflow has caused severe flooding, forcing water into people’s homes, destroying walls, and bringing in large amounts of debris. Residents have been raising concerns about this issue for years, calling for urgent intervention.
Upon seeing a video of the devastation, Hon. Gunu swiftly visited the site and invited officials from the Ho Municipal Assembly, the project engineer, and representatives from Urban Roads for an on-site assessment. Following the inspection, the Minister met with the entire team in his office, where immediate action steps were taken to restore the bridge before the heavy rains set in.
Hon. Gunu assured the affected residents that swift measures would be implemented to prevent further destruction and to ensure that the road becomes accessible once again.
