Adaklu and Ho West DCEs Rally Support for Teachers at Girls in ICT Training Programme
The Dean of all Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MDCEs) in the Volta Region, Hon. Jerry Ameko, who also serves as the DCE for Adaklu, together with the DCE for Ho West, Hon. Profer Dusey, paid a visit to the ongoing training programme for 100 selected teachers at the Volta Regional Capital.
The training, which forms part of a larger initiative to empower 1,000 girls across all 18 districts in the region this June, is being spearheaded by the Ministry of Communications and Digitalisation in collaboration with the Ghana Investment Fund for Electronic Communications (GIFEC), the Kofi Annan Centre of Excellence in ICT, and other key partners.
During their visit, the two DCEs interacted with both the trainers and the participating teachers. They commended the dedication and enthusiasm displayed by the trainees and urged them to make the most of the opportunity. “Learn well enough to pour out into the students you’ll be training,” Hon. Jerry Ameko encouraged, noting the ripple effect this initiative will have on girls’ digital literacy across the region.
They also expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Ministry of Communications, GIFEC, the Kofi Annan Centre, and all stakeholders involved in making the programme a reality. Their visit served as a morale booster for the participants and reaffirmed the commitment of local leadership to the development of digital skills among young girls in the Volta Region.
