The Volta Regional Coordinating Council proudly joined students and staff from all Colleges of Education in the Volta and Oti Regions for the opening ceremony of their 2025 Inter-Collegiate Sports Festival at St. Francis College of Education in Hohoe.

The week-long event, which runs from 26th July to 1st August, is a celebration of discipline, unity, and talent among our future educators. Representing the Council, the Hon. Volta Regional Minister, James Gunu, applauded the initiative and encouraged participants to carry the same spirit of teamwork and excellence into their professional lives.

The Minister emphasized that teacher development remains a priority, referencing recent national efforts to promote mentorship and in-service training over restrictive exams. He also highlighted the government’s renewed commitment, as reflected in the 2025 Mid-Year Budget Review, to strengthening educational infrastructure and support systems.

The VRCC is proud to support such platforms that not only promote physical wellness but also build leadership and collaboration skills among young people preparing to shape Ghana’s future.

We commend all participating institutions and wish them a successful and impactful festival.
