VRCC Facilitates Ministerial Visit to Flosell Farms & Amo Delta Ltd
The Volta Regional Coordinating Council, led by the Hon. Regional Minister James Gunu, together with the MCE for South Tongu, Hon. Victoria Dzeklo, and other dignitaries, paid a working visit to two major agribusiness enterprises in the Municipality.
At Flosell Farms, the delegation was received by CEO Mr. Evans Kwadzo Danso, an agribusiness expert and consultant with WorldFish. The team was taken on an extensive tour covering both land-based and lake-based operations, where they observed firsthand the advanced tilapia production process from egg collection and fertilization, through the nurturing of fingerlings, to the harvesting of mature fish.
The Minister emphasized that such initiatives align with H.E. John Dramani Mahama’s 24-Hour Economy vision, especially the development of the Volta Lake Economic Corridor into a hub for aquaculture, water transport, and water sports. This also feeds into the national Feed Ghana project, which expands beyond staple crops to include aquaculture and other innovative food systems. He further encouraged the youth to embrace training opportunities to harness the vast potentials in the sector.
The delegation also visited Amo Delta Ltd, a fully irrigated 200-acre passion fruit farm operating under the Free Zones programme. The Managing Director, Mr. Michael Cudjoe, led the team through the processing factory, where he explained the company’s value-addition processes and export focus.
The VRCC commends the leadership of Flosell Farms and Amo Delta Ltd for their contributions to food security, youth employment, and the transformation of the Volta Region’s agricultural landscape.
