The Volta Regional Coordinating Council (VRCC) today received a delegation from the Agortime Ziope Cooperative Farmers, led by their chairman, Mr. Emmanuel Xorse Adorbley.

The group, representing over 1,000 farmers, highlighted the challenges facing farmers in the area and appealed for training to help reduce post-harvest losses. They also requested the establishment of factories to process tomatoes, since Ziope is one of the major tomato-growing areas in the Volta Region.

The Hon. Volta Regional Minister, James Gunu, thanked the delegation for their visit and assured them that their concerns have been duly noted. He further indicated VRCC’s readiness to provide the necessary linkages to support farmers and attract investment into the area.

VRCC remains committed to strengthening agriculture and creating opportunities for farmers across the Region.
