Volta Regional Minister Continues Working Tour of Ketu South – Visits Aflao Market Sites and Pays Courtesy Call on Paramount Chief
As part of his ongoing working tour of the Ketu South Municipality, the Volta Regional Minister, Hon. James Gunu, visited three sites earmarked for the construction of the Aflao market. The initiative is aimed at improving trading conditions and reducing the reliance on cross-border trade in Lomé.
Hon. Gunu also paid a courtesy call on the Paramount Chief of Aflao, Togbi Adzongaga Amenya Fiti V. The Chief warmly received the Minister and his delegation, thanking him for the honour of the visit. He used the occasion to highlight key concerns, including the deplorable state of roads in Aflao and the urgent need to commence the market project—land for which is already secured. He also outlined various challenges facing the chieftaincy and traditional leadership in the area.
In his response, Hon. James Gunu assured Togbi Fiti V that all promises made by H.E. John Dramani Mahama would be honoured. He emphasized that the NDC government is committed to addressing the development needs of the Volta Region. The Minister took note of all issues raised and pledged to follow up for the necessary action.
The working tour continues with further engagements across the municipality.
