A delegation from Volta Fair, led by Association of Ghana Industries Vice Chair, Mr. Dela Gadzanku, paid a courtesy call on the Volta Regional Minister, Hon. James Gunu, to congratulate him on his appointment and discuss opportunities for promoting investment in the Region.

Mr. Gadzanku highlighted the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI) as the leading voice of the private sector, with over 2,000 enterprises working to brand the Volta Region as Ghana’s most investable destination. He commended the Minister for his swift intervention in addressing the recent water crisis in Ho and pledged AGI’s support in selling the Region to the international market.

Fred Avornyo, COO of Volta Fair, announced that the next Volta Fair and its sister event, Visit Volta, will take place this year. The Visit Volta tour will showcase the region’s beauty before the fair, with invitations extended to business communities from Togo, Benin, Nigeria, and other African countries to make this year’s fair the biggest yet.

Siddharth Mohi Nupoo, CEO of Spring Agro, noted that his 1,500-acre rice farm in Adidome is the largest in the Country and emphasized that Ghana has the potential to export rice if its agricultural resources are fully utilized. He stressed the need for government support and stability to drive investment.

Hon. James Gunu assured the delegation of his full commitment, outlining his three key priorities:

1. Ensuring peace and security to position Volta as Ghana’s most stable Region.
2. Building the capacity of district assemblies to ease the burden on central government.
3. Collaborating with key stakeholders like AGI, NGOs amongst others to fulfill H.E. John Dramani Mahama’s development vision for the Volta Region.

The meeting ended on a positive note, with both parties committed to promoting investment and economic growth in the Volta Region.
