Strategic Meeting of Past and Present Regional Ministers
The Volta Regional Minister, Hon. James Gunu, recently engaged past Regional Ministers to harness their experience in advancing President Mahama’s development agenda. Discussions focused on key projects, including the Keta Sea Defence, harbor development, market spaces, and the completion of the Eastern Corridor roads.
The meeting also addressed pressing challenges such as chieftaincy disputes and drug-related issues, emphasizing the importance of a collective approach to governance. Hon. Gunu expressed deep appreciation for the past ministers’ guidance and reaffirmed his commitment to working collaboratively for the Region’s progress.
Mr. Mawutor Agbavitor stressed the need for clear benchmarks, while Hon. J.Z. Amenorwode emphasized the value of learning from experienced leaders. Hon. Col Cyril Necku highlighted security concerns, and Hon. Henry Ametefe underscored the importance of strong relationships with MPs. Hon. Nii Afotey-Agbo urged broader community engagement and accessibility.
Although some past ministers were unable to attend due to other commitments, their ongoing support remains invaluable. Hon. Gunu remains dedicated to fostering collaboration for a stronger, more prosperous Volta Region.
