The Volta Regional Coordinating Council (VRCC) has hosted a validation and revision workshop for the Regional Integrated Plan (RIP) 2022-2025 at Chances Hotel, Ho. The workshop brought together key stakeholders, including regional directors, development partners, and traditional leaders, to refine the strategic plan that will guide the region’s development.

Hon. James Gunu, the Volta Regional Minister, officially opened the session, emphasizing the importance of the RIP in ensuring coordinated and impactful development. He highlighted key priority areas such as infrastructure, agriculture, industrialization, health, education, and environmental sustainability.

The first presentation, delivered by Mr. Jonathan Azasoo, a former Senior Technical Advisor at the National Development Planning Commission (NDPC), outlined the necessity of institutional plans that contribute to the overall regional and national planning framework. He explained how these individual institutional plans feed into the broader Regional Integrated Plan, ensuring alignment and synergy.

Stakeholders engaged in plenary discussions, focusing on critical development dimensions, including economic growth, social development, governance, and emergency planning. The workshop aimed to finalize the RIP and lay the foundation for the next phase (2026-2029).

Hon. Gunu expressed gratitude to all participants and development partners for their commitment, urging them to contribute meaningfully to shaping a roadmap that fosters inclusive growth in the Volta Region.
