Regional Minister Gunu Commences Hohoe Tour with Traditional Engagements
HOHOE, September 8, 2025 – The Volta Regional Minister, Honourable James Gunu, today officially began a three-day working visit to the Hohoe Municipality, dedicating the first day to a series of high-level courtesy calls on traditional authorities and community leaders.
The Minister and his delegation were received by the Wli, Gbledi, and Fodome Traditional Councils at their respective palaces. The day of dialogue concluded with a meeting with the leadership of the Muslim community in Hohoe.
Each engagement followed a rich protocol of traditional courtesies. During his addresses, Hon. Gunu reassured the traditional leaders of the government’s unwavering commitment to the development of the municipality. He specifically highlighted key projects lined up for the area, including critical road projects, the expansion of the University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS) campus, and the development of new school infrastructure, among several other initiatives.
The visit is seen as a crucial step in strengthening the partnership between the regional government and the local stakeholders of Hohoe. The Minister’s itinerary for the coming days includes further stakeholder meetings and inspections of key development projects across the municipality.
