NHIA Board Chairman and Management Pay Courtesy Call on the Hon. Volta Regional Minister
The Board Chairman of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), Dr. Ernest K.P. Kwarko and Management of the Authority led by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Dr. Bernard Okoe-Boye paid a courtesy call on the Hon. Volta Regional Minister, Dr. Archibald Yao Letsa on Monday, July 04, 2022 at the office, Ho.
Dr. Okoe-Boye, while addressing the Hon. Regional Minister, stated that Management was embarking on a nationwide tour to interact with Regional and District Officers on the operations of the Authority.
In addition, he stated that the tour would help them familiarize themselves with decision makers, who would ultimately offer solutions that could make the NHIA a reliable and efficient public service institution.
He also stated the tour would enable them to visit selected health facilities and interact with stakeholders to share with them some policies the Authority intends to introduce, take notice of the challenges of the facilities, and get other necessary for feedback that could inform the policies and programmes of the Authority.
He shared with the Hon. Minister two (2) major policy directives to be implemented by NHIA which would be beneficial to elderly people and service providers under the Authority.
The Hon. Regional Minister welcomed the delegation to the Region on behalf of the Co-ordinating Council and expressed gratitude to them for the visit. He stated that the NHIA was a highly significant institution providing vital health services to Ghanaians.
Dr. Letsa indicated that the Regional office of the Authority and the Volta Regional Co-ordinating Council have a good working relationship.
The Regional Director of NHIA, Mr. Joseph Homenya informed Management of the Authority about the support the Authority in the Region enjoys from the Hon. Regional Minister and expressed appreciation.
He corroborated the good working relationship that exists between the Co-ordinating Council and the Regional Office of the Authority and expressed hope about its continuity.
Among the retinue of the Board Chairman and the CEO were Board Member, Madam Joyce Konokie Zempare, Deputy Chief Executive, Human Resource/Administration, Mrs. Yaa Pokuaa Baiden, Deputy Chief Executive, Finance, Mr. Francis Owusu, Head of Management Information Systems, Mr. Daniel Blankson and Head of Corporate Affairs, Mr. Oswald Essuah-Mensah. The Acting Regional Co-ordinating Director, Mr. Prosper K. Afenyo, and the Regional Economic Planning Officer, Rev. Isaac Adza Tettey assisted the Hon. Minister to receive the visitors.
