At a short ceremony today, the Hon. Volta Regional Minister, Dr. Archibald Yao Letsa has cut sod for the construction of 142 shops with ancillary facilities at the Ho Central Market scheduled for completion by March 2021. The project is part of the Ghana Secondary Cities Support Programme, a World Bank support programme for 25 selected Municipal Assemblies in the Country.

In his address, the Hon. Regional Minister stated that the project is in furtherance of efforts to modernize the Ho Central market.

He used the occasion to entreat citizens and residents of the Volta Region to support government in safeguarding the peace and security of the Region by being on the lookout for and reporting to the Security and Intelligence Agencies any person or group of persons who intend to disrupt the relative peace in the Region.

He  concluded by entreating the people of Ho and patronisers of the Ho Central Market to rally behind H.E. Nana Akufo Addo, the President of the Republic of Ghana who has the transformation of the market, within the next four years, at heart.

The Hon. Municipal Chief Executive of Ho, Mr. Prosper Pi-Bansah assisted the Hon. Regional Minister to cut the sod.
