The Volta Regional Minister, Hon. James Gunu, has officially launched the 2025 Asogli Te Za (Yam Festival) at the GNAT Hall in Ho today Monday, 14th July 2025. The launch brought together revered traditional leaders, government officials, private organisations and citizens.

In his address, Hon. Gunu commended the Asogli State Council for preserving the region’s rich cultural heritage and highlighted the festival’s theme, “Together in Honesty and Purpose, We Build a Just, Peaceful and Prosperous Nation,” as a rallying call for unity, truth, and national development. He urged all stakeholders to use the celebration to promote peace, social cohesion, tourism, and investment.

The programme of activities for the festival which runs from July 14 to October 5 was unveiled. Events include a Summit of Ewe Chiefs, Best Farmer Award, Health Walk, Tourism Visits, Borborbor Night, State Dinner and Awards, Seminars, Grand Durbar, and a Thanksgiving Service.
