Volta Regional Minister Begins Two-Day Inspection of Eastern Corridor and Big Push Road Projects
The Volta Regional Minister, Hon. James Gunu, on Wednesday 18th November commenced a two-day inspection tour of major road projects along the Eastern Corridor, accompanied by Volta’s Council of State Member, Hon. Gabriel Adovoe Kwabla Tanko Kwamigah-Atokple; representatives from the Volta Regional House of Chiefs; the Ecumenical and Zongo Regional Councils; and officials of the VRCC and Ghana Highway Authority
The delegation first inspected the Have–Hohoe Road (53.35km), which is being constructed by Greenhouse International Developers Ghana Limited, and later assessed work on the Asikuma–Have Road (45km), currently being executed by First Sky Construction Limited.
The team also visited the newly completed 67.5-metre Sayikope Bridge over the Aklakpa River, constructed by the Mobile Bridge Maintenance Unit of the Ghana Highway Authority.
Under the Big Push initiative, the delegation continued to the Atimpoku–Asikuma Road Project, where Lot 1 (17.5km) is being undertaken by USSUYA Ltd., Lot 2 (8.5km) by Dwahill Ltd., and the Asikuma–Anyirawase Road Lot 3 (23.4km) by Ultra Nexus Ltd..
Additionally, the Minister inspected works on the Asutsuare Junction, Volivo – Dorfor Adidome – Asikuma Junction Road (67km), which includes the construction of a new bridge over the Volta River. This project is being executed by CJIC, a Chinese construction firm.
