VOLTA REGIONAL CO-ORDINATING COUNCIL DEFENDS 2022 BUDGET
The Volta Regional Co-ordinating Council on 10th December, 2021 met the Select Committee of Parliament on Local Government to defend its 2022 Regional Integrated Budget. The Volta Regional Co-ordinating Council Defense Team led by Mr. Prosper Kwesi. Afenyo, Ag. Regional Co-ordinating Director, included Mrs. Rose A. Kpesese, Regional Budget Analyst (RBA); Mr. Johnson Ahiatrogah, Regional Chief Accountant (RCA); Mr. Saviour Kudiabor, Principal Budget Analyst; Mr. Patrick Senagah, Senior Budget Analyst; and Mr. Derrick Nii-Nortey Lokko Senior Budget Analyst.
The team defended the budget conducted by the Select Committee. However, all other regions, the estimates for Modernizing Agriculture in Ghana (MAG) and the District Assemblies’ Common Fund (DACF) were found inaccurate, for the formula for disbursement had not been approved by Parliament.
The cleaning of the noise in the budget was however carried out and the budget resubmitted to the Chairman and the Clerk of the Committee.
The 2022 Budget Estimate resubmitted was accepted and would be added to the Appropriation Bill to be passed into the Appropriation Act by the Parliament of Ghana.
