The Paramount Queen Mother of the Ve Traditional Area, Mamaga Toleyifoe V (Rita Senam Joanita Akasreku), was laid to rest today in Ve-Koloenu following her untimely passing on December 6, 2024.

The 46-year-old queen mother tragically passed away at the Juaso Government Hospital near Konongo in the Ashanti Region. She was returning from a National Queen Mothers’ Conference in Techiman alongside her colleagues when the unfortunate incident occurred. She is survived by a daughter.

Dignitaries, traditional leaders, and sympathizers gathered in Ve-Koloenu to bid farewell to the revered queen mother. Among the distinguished attendees were Volta Regional Minister, Hon. James Gunu, Alex Segbefia, Chief of Staff at the Vice President’s Office, and Joseph Amenorwode, former Volta Regional Chairman of the NDC and former MP for Afadzato South.

Her passing has left a deep void in the Ve Traditional Area and beyond, as she was known for her dedication to the welfare and empowerment of her people.
