The leadership of the School of Hygiene, Ho, led by their Acting Principal, Mr. Victor Dumahasi, today paid a courtesy call on the Volta Regional Minister, Hon. James Gunu, to formally introduce themselves and extend their support to his administration.

During the visit, Mr. Dumahasi highlighted the institution’s significant role in training environmental health professionals over the past 50 years. However, he noted that the school is facing key infrastructural and administrative challenges. These include the stalled construction of a 12-unit classroom block, which was initiated by former Regional Minister Hon. Helen Ntoso and is about 75% complete. The team appealed for support to complete the project.

Additionally, Mr. Dumahasi raised concerns over inadequate accommodation for students and staff, as well as salary conversion issues affecting about nine tutors who have worked for the past three years without full recognition.

In response, Hon. James Gunu assured them that their concerns had been noted and pledged to collaborate with relevant stakeholders to address the challenges. The delegation also reaffirmed their allegiance to the Minister and expressed their commitment to supporting the development of the Region.
