The new Commanding Officer of the 66 Artillery Regiment, Lt Col. Edward Sarpong  Appiah, who took over Command of the Regiment in December 2020, paid a courtesy call on H.E. the President’s Representative at the Volta Regional Co-ordinating Council, Dr. Archibald Yao Letsa at the office, Ho. Lt Col. Appiah used the call to officially introduce himself in his new capacity to Dr. Letsa and solicit the continued support of the Co-ordinating Council for the Regiment.

Lt Col. Appiah congratulated Dr. Letsa on his re-nomination as the Regional Minister Designate. He therefore pledged his support and loyalty to Dr. Letsa as the incoming Regional Minister and Chairman of the Regional Security Council in the pursuit of security and safety issues in the Region.

Dr. Letsa on his part congratulated Lt. Col. Appiah on his new appointment and indicated that Lt. Col. Appiah was not new to the Council as well as himself. Dr. Letsa intimated how the Co-ordinating Council  enjoyed working with Lt. Col. Appiah as the Second-in-Command (2IC) of the Regiment and  the Commander Rear in the absence of the Commanding Officer.

Dr. Letsa expressed his happiness about Lt. Col. Appiah succeeding Col. Pantoah as the Commanding Officer of the Regiment having excelled himself as the 2IC.  He therefore expressed the confidence that Lt. Col. Appiah would continue to work with the Council.

Dr. Letsa consequently assured Lt. Col. Appiah of the readiness of the Co-ordinating Council to work with him while stating the Council’s support for him in whatever he would do as leader of the Regiment.

Dr. Letsa seized the opportunity to commend the Regiment for the role it has been playing in the Region and the Country.

He finally expressed the hope that officers and men of the Regiment would give Lt. Col. Appiah the necessary support, as he wished him success in his new role.
