MTN Delegation Engages VRCC on Network Improvements and Community Projects
A delegation from MTN Ghana, led by the Senior Manager for Corporate Communications, Ms. Gina Asare Fiagbenu, has paid a courtesy call on the Volta Regional Coordinating Council (VRCC) to engage stakeholders on service delivery and to share updates on ongoing projects in the region.
Ms. Fiagbenu stated that the visit formed part of MTN’s efforts to better understand customer experiences and gather feedback on their communications services. She noted that the company is actively addressing network congestion, expanding coverage with new cell sites, and rolling out fibre connectivity across the region. Issues such as equipment theft, particularly of batteries, were also highlighted as ongoing challenges being tackled.
Other members of the team shared updates on MTN’s corporate social responsibility initiatives. These include the expansion of the Accident and Emergency Unit at the Ho Teaching Hospital into a modern 22-bed facility, expected to be completed and handed over in November. Additionally, they announced that several students from the Volta Region have successfully gone through interviews for the MTN Bright Scholarship, which forms part of the 500 scholarships to be awarded nationwide this year.
The Chief Director of the VRCC, Mr. Augustus Awity, warmly welcomed the team and lauded MTN’s commitment to improving digital infrastructure and supporting development in the region. He encouraged continuous engagement and collaboration to help deliver lasting impact for communities across the Volta Region.
