Key Staff Trained in Administrative Writing and E-records Management
The Volta Regional Coordinating Council received Mr. Joseph Ankamah from the Office of the Head of Local Government Service to take key staff of the Council through a two-day training focused on administrative writing, e-records management and trips for update of website for IT, Executive Officers and other officers. The training forms part of measures by the VRCC to address gaps observed during the assessment of the implementation of the 2020 Performance Contract by MMDAs and RCC in the Volta Region.
The training which was opened by the Regional Budget Analyst, Mrs. Rose Kpesese on behalf of the Chief Director had a total of twenty-five (25) officers made up of Administrative, Executive and IT Officers and Human Resource managers in attendance. Some staff of the Ho Municipal Assembly were included in the training.
Facilitation of the training was achieved through the use of adult learning skills, assignments and hands-on practice of entry of data into the developed e-database application. These together contributed to improve the knowledge and skills of beneficiary officers. It therefore came as no surprise when at the end of the training, officers noted that their expectations have been met with their knowledge levels improved. Almost all of participants indicated that they were satisfied with the way and manner in which the training was conducted.
Overall, the training was successful in terms of organization, participation and conduct. The practical session also afforded staff of the RCC opportunity to commence use of the e-platform and the upload of data for e-electronic management. It is recommended that, the RCC would facilitate the conduct of the needed trainings to address all the gaps identified during the last assessment to facilitate the Region’s better performance in subsequent assessments.
