Government Pledges Support at Avenor Tutudoza Festival, Donates to Development Drive
The Avenor Tutudoza 2025 Grand Durbar became a powerful showcase of unity and partnership between the traditional authority and the government, with high-ranking officials reaffirming their commitment to the area’s development.
The event, held at the Akatsi Main Park under the theme “Securing the Future of Avenor Through Skills Acquisition, Employment, and Economic Growth,” was graced by the Paramount Chief, Togbe Dorglo Anumah VI, the Volta Regional Minister, Hon. James Gunu, and a delegation of government officials, including the First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Hon. Bernard Ahiafor, MP for Akatsi South and the Minister for Labour, Jobs, and Employment, Dr. Abdul-Rashid Hassan Pelpuo.
In his speech, the Deputy Speaker outlined the government’s policies, plans, and ongoing developmental projects earmarked for the Avenor area. A consistent call for unity resonated through all addresses, identified as the crucial force needed to propel the area’s development and attract investment.
In his remarks, Paramount Chief Togbe Dorglo Anumah VI commended the government for its visible developmental efforts in the area, specifically citing the construction of E-block school buildings, health centers, and other projects. His primary appeal to the President was for the urgent construction and rehabilitation of roads in the traditional area.
Demonstrating the government’s commitment, the Deputy Speaker, Hon. Bernard Ahiafor, on behalf of His Excellency the President and alongside the Volta Regional Minister, Hon. James Gunu, announced a handsome cash donation to support the people and the ongoing development initiatives celebrated during the festival.
