Dr. Ken Kwaku, a former World Bank Managing Director for Africa and an internationally renowned economist, has paid a courtesy call on the Volta Regional Minister, Hon. James Gunu. During the visit, Dr. Kwaku expressed his readiness to leverage his vast experience and expertise to support the development of the Volta Region.

Hon. Gunu warmly welcomed Dr. Kwaku and highlighted key sectors in need of intervention, including tourism, manufacturing, and agriculture. Recognizing Dr. Kwaku’s impressive background as an economic advisor to Tanzania and Botswana, He emphasized the importance of branding the Region to attract investment and foster economic growth.

Dr. Kwaku, has played a pivotal role in shaping economic policies across Africa. His contributions include advising governments on privatization, SME development, and trade policy, as well as serving as an economic advisor to former Tanzanian President H.E. Benjamin Mkapa.

He reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the Volta Region, bringing along decades of expertise in investment facilitation and economic transformation.

Hon. Gunu expressed gratitude for Dr. Kwaku’s willingness to contribute to the region’s progress and assured him of the government’s cooperation in achieving shared development goals.
