First Resident High Commissioner of Kenya to Ghana, has paid a courtesy call on the Hon. Volta Regional Minister
The First Resident High Commissioner of Kenya to Ghana, H.E. Mr. Eliphas Barine has paid a courtesy call on the Hon. Volta Regional Minister, Dr. Archibald Yao Letsa at the office, Ho.
Mr. Barine is on an official visit to the Volta Region to interact with stakeholders especially the private sector players on areas of cooperation to boost the local economy of the Region.
Meeting the Hon. Regional Minister, Mr. Barine expressed his happiness about his call on me the Hon. Minister and described the people in the Region as captivating and engaging.
He also impressed his fascination with the wealth of knowledge exhibited by the people he had interacted with.
He indicated that he was in the country for cooperation as envisaged by the African Union, pointing out that the African continent has everything to propel it to where it aspires to be.
Furthermore, he expressed the need for relationships between institutions in the Region and their counterparts in Kenya to facilitate ease of doing business.
In addition, he pointed out that the natural environment of the Region is the biggest resource for development.
He concluded by being grateful for the hospitality he has been enjoying in the Region since his arrival.
On the part of the Hon. Regional Minister, Dr. Archibald Yao Letsa, he extended a special welcome to the High Commissioner and indicated that the Volta Region had a lot to offer in terms of business potentials for the consideration of the private sector.
He stated that Ghana and Kenya had a lot to learn from each other. Particularly, he indicated that the Region has to learn from Kenya in areas of commercial agriculture and tourism development.
Dr. Letsa therefore implored him to link the Region to investors in Kenya, for with the needed support, the private sector in the Region could grow tremendously.
Finally, Dr. Letsa stated that the visit of the High Commissioner was the beginning of a beautiful relationship between the Region and Kenya.
The High Commissioner and his team were accompanied by Mr. Dela Gadzanku, the Eastern, Volta and Oti Regional Chairman of the Association of Ghana Industries.
Pastor Johnson Avuletey, Hon. Deputy Volta Regional Minister; Mr. Felix B. Chaahaah, Chief Director of the Co-ordinating Council and Rev. Isaac Adza-Tettey, Regional Economic Planning Officer assisted the Hon. Regional Minister to host the High Commissioner and his team.
