Beneficiaries of 2020 Adolescent Mentorship and Empowerment Camp Monitored and Sensitised
The Department of Gender with funding support from UNFPA and collaboration with Ghana Education Service (GES) organised a 5-day monitoring and sensitisation programme to track the performance and interact with the beneficiaries and peers of the 2020 Adolescent Mentorship and Empowerment Camp.
The interaction was to find out the challenges of the beneficiaries and the peers; and encourage them to stay focused as well as become peer educators in their schools and community.
Participants were also sensitised on issues of SGBV, ASRH, Adolescent pregnancy and COVID 19. The event was held from 17th February to 1st March, 2021 in five districts namely Central Tongu, Afadjato South, South Dayi, North Dayi and the Ho Municipality.
A total of 260 participants were reached out of which 225 were adolescent with 68 boys and 157 girls. The 157 girls were provided with 3 months’ supply of sanitary pads and some schools were also given pads for their changing rooms.
