The Artillery Training School in Akoefe-Volta Region has commissioned a new lecture hall, marking a significant milestone in enhancing training facilities for artillery personnel. The commissioning ceremony brought together high-ranking military officials, members of the Ghana Artillery Officers’ Association (GAOA), representatives of GLICO Group Limited, and other stakeholders.

The event was graced by the Volta Regional Minister Hon. James Gunu, General Officer Commanding Southern Command, Brigadier General Asare, who was also the Guest of Honour, alongside Brigadier General Amengor, Commander of the 16 Artillery Brigade.

Speaking at the event, Brigadier General Kporku (Rtd.), President of GAOA, emphasized the strong bond within the artillery fraternity and the importance of investing in training infrastructure. He acknowledged the contributions of both serving and retired artillery officers, as well as corporate partners like GLICO, in supporting the construction of the facility.

The new facility, with a seating capacity of 60 students, would ease congestion and improve the quality of instruction at the school.

The commissioning of the lecture hall marks a step forward in strengthening the capacity of the Ghana Armed Forces, ensuring that artillery personnel receive the best possible training to serve the nation effectively.
