The Volta Regional Minister, Hon. James Gunu, on Sunday, September 7, 2025, hosted a special dinner in honour of a visiting delegation from the United States to strengthen collaboration on education and digital literacy in the Region.

The guests included Haneen Khalaf, Director of Global Business Development at Learning Upgrade, and Ginhee Rancourt, Founder of Our Future Prize, who are partnering with Starlink for Good to connect 30 schools across the Volta Region to high-speed internet. In his address, Hon. Gunu underscored the importance of access to quality education, improved infrastructure, and logistics to increase literacy and retention, especially for girls. He noted that with Starlink’s platform, education in the Volta Region would become easier, more engaging, and stress-free for school children.

The Chief Director of the Volta Regional Coordinating Council, Mr Augustus Awity also commended the initiative, stressing that digital learning will help shape a more literate and empowered generation in the Region.

The dinner provided a warm welcome for the delegation while reaffirming the Volta Region’s commitment to educational transformation through innovation and technology.
