The Volta Regional Minister, Hon. James Gunu, yesterday led a delegation from the Volta Region House of Chiefs to Accra to engage the Minister for the Interior, Hon. Muntaka Mubarak, on concerns relating to the operations of inland border checkpoints in the Volta Region.

The engagement focused on reports of inhuman treatment of commuters, the use of inappropriate language by some officers, and the impact of the checkpoints on the dignity of residents, particularly at Asikuma Junction and Sogakope. The Minister for the Interior assured the delegation of firm action against misconduct while highlighting the national security importance of the checkpoints.
