The Volta Regional Minister, Hon. James Gunu, joined the management, alumni and students of Abor Senior High School for the school’s 60th Anniversary Grand Durbar held at Abor. Prior to the commencement of the programme, Hon. Gunu and his delegation inspected an ongoing infrastructure project — a three-storey facility comprising nine (9) two-bedroom staff bungalows aimed at improving accommodation for teachers. Delivering an address on behalf of H.E. John Dramani Mahama, President of the Republic of Ghana, he congratulated the school for six decades of academic excellence and character formation. He described the milestone as a celebration of legacy, resilience and transformative education rooted in indigenous values. The Minister reiterated government’s commitment to modernising school infrastructure, expanding STEM and technical education, and promoting entrepreneurship. He further aligned the school’s vision with the national 24-Hour Economy agenda to create sustainable opportunities for the youth. Hon. Gunu encouraged students to embrace innovation while upholding discipline, integrity and respect, and urged alumni and stakeholders to support ABORSCO’s continued growth as it lives its motto, “Arise and Shine.”
