Volta Regional Coordinating Council Disseminates Routine Monitoring Report for 2024
The Regional Co-ordinating Council (RCC) on 17th January 2025 successfully disseminated its routine monitoring report for the second and third quarters of 2024, bringing together key stakeholders across all 18 districts. The event, held with great enthusiasm, attracted District Coordinating Directors (DCDs), Development Planning Officers, Presiding Members, the Regional Co-ordinating Director (RCD), the Regional Development Planning Officer (RDPO), among others.
The RCD Mr Augustus Awity opened the session by warmly welcoming all attendees and congratulating them on the Region’s remarkable achievement of securing first place in the Performance Contract Assessment for the fourth consecutive time. “This is a testament to our collective hard work and dedication,” he noted, urging all Assemblies to strive harder to maintain this record. However, he expressed concerns over some Assemblies’ failure to follow due procedures, which contributed to the underperformance of a few districts. Despite this, the Volta Region managed to have a few Assemblies ranked in the top ten nationally.
In a detailed presentation, the RDPO Mr Felix Adom Boateng highlighted the performance of the Assemblies, revealing that the Anloga District emerged as the best-performing Assembly when all three forms of assessments were combined. However, Anloga narrowly missed out on excelling in the Performance Contract Assessment category. The RDPO’s report also identified procedural lapses in some Assemblies that hindered their progress and outlined steps to address these issues.
One of the standout activities during the program was the introduction of an Expectation Board, a creative platform that engaged participants actively. Each DCD wrote their expectations for the impending assessments on colored sheets, fostering a spirit of reflection and goal-setting. This interactive exercise was followed by a pledge session, where the Dean of Coordinating Directors led participants in committing to work harder and achieve better results in the coming months.
The session was hailed as interactive and productive, emphasizing teamwork, adherence to guidelines, and a renewed commitment to excellence. The RCD’s inspiring address and the RDPO’s thorough analysis have set the tone for improved performance across all Assemblies in the Volta Region.
With this level of dedication and collective effort, the Region remains poised to sustain its top position and achieve even greater success in the future.
