Volta Region Signs Strategic MoU with the Belt and Road Environmental Technology Exchange and Transfer Center (Shenzhen, China)
The Volta Regional Minister, Hon. James Gunu, has signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Belt and Road Environmental Technology Exchange and Transfer Center (Shenzhen, China) at the Residency in Ho.
The agreement establishes a strategic framework for cooperation between the Volta Region and Shenzhen, focusing on:
π Promoting sustainable investment and green technology transfer
π€ Facilitating trade and market access for businesses in both regions
π Supporting joint projects that contribute to economic growth
π± Advancing the Green Belt and Road Initiative in Ghana through environmentally sound development
Key areas of cooperation include:
- Information sharing on investment, policy, and market intelligence
- Joint participation in trade forums, exhibitions, and investment promotion activities
- Government and private sector business missions to explore opportunities
- Project support for bilateral trade and investment initiatives
This milestone is a direct outcome of the platforms created under the Volta Economic Embassy and Volta Economic Forum, championed by Dr. Elikplim Apetorgbor (Commissioner and Volta Representative to the NDPC).
The MoU marks a bold step towards positioning the Volta Region as a hub for strategic partnerships and credible investment.
