US Investors Explore Strategic Partnerships with Volta Region
A delegation of investors from the United States has paid a courtesy call on the Volta Regional Minister, Hon. James Gunu, in Sogakope, to explore investment opportunities in the region, with a focus on innovation, entrepreneurship, and technology.
Receiving the delegation, Hon. James Gunu described the partnership as critical to the development agenda of the Volta Region, noting that the region holds enormous untapped potential. He highlighted opportunities under the sister-city relationship framework and emphasized the Volta Lake Economic Corridor as a key area requiring strong private sector participation through public–private partnership arrangements.
The Regional Minister stressed the importance of entrepreneurship in addressing youth unemployment, urging increased investment in innovation-driven initiatives to empower young people to be creative, technologically inclined, and job creators.
Earlier, the CEO of the delegation indicated that the team was keen on bringing practical ideas and innovative solutions to partner with the region, while also seeking the Minister’s blessings. An update was also provided on their previous visit to Ghana last year and progress made so far in mobilizing investments for Ghana and the Volta Region.
The delegation included Mr. Frederick Cawthon, CEO of Biocatalysis Solution; Dr. Kim Scott, Director of International Programs at Elizabeth City State University; Ms. Tracy Adams, Engineer and Entrepreneur from Elizabeth City State University; and Mr. Robert Turner, Manager of Innovation Programs at the TSU Division of Sponsored Research. The investors were led by Mr. Delali Kotoka and Dr. Isaac Addae of the Conscious Immersion Group and Onyx Group.
