On Day 3 of his working tour of the Hohoe Municipality, the Volta Regional Minister, Hon. James Gunu, inspected the Light Industrial Park project at Gbi-Godenu. The 20-acre facility, funded under the Ghana Secondary Cities Support Programme with support from the World Bank, is set to transform the local economy.

The park will host 24 garages each with sections for spraying, mechanical works, and auto-electrical services. It also already houses a rice processing factory, a dryer, and other facilities, with supporting infrastructure such as a health post, police and fire stations, and sanitary/laundry services planned.

The Ministry of Energy has completed its initial assessment to power the facility, and the Minister placed a demand on the MCE to facilitate the opening and operationalisation of the Park by the end of the first quarter of 2026.

When completed, this project will create jobs, boost the Internally Generated Funds (IGF) of the Hohoe Municipality, and provide new opportunities for businesses and residents alike.
