The Volta Regional Minister, Hon. James Gunu, on Monday, February 23, 2026, led a delegation to Fodome in the Hohoe Municipality to perform the sod-cutting ceremony for the construction of a new Senior High School.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ceremony brought together key stakeholders, including the Member of Parliament for Hohoe, Thomas Worlanyo Tsekpo, Municipal Chief Executive Hon. Prosper Kumi, officials from the Education Directorate, representatives of the Municipal Assembly, consultants, traditional authorities, and community members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 12-month project will include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A 2-storey dormitory block with courtyard<\/p>\n\n\n\n

6 units of 2-bedroom semi-detached staff accommodation<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A 2-storey science laboratory complex<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2 units of 3-storey, 18-unit classroom blocks<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An additional 18-unit classroom block<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A 2-storey administration block<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A dining hall with kitchen<\/p>\n\n\n\n

12 units of 2-seater toilet facilities<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A 3-bedroom headmaster\u2019s bungalow<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In his remarks, Hon. James Gunu reaffirmed government\u2019s commitment to expanding and modernizing educational infrastructure across the Volta Region. He stressed the importance of effective supervision and quality monitoring to ensure timely completion of the project, noting that improved facilities in senior high and technical schools are essential to enhancing academic performance and access to quality education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hon. Thomas Worlanyo Tsekpo expressed appreciation to government and all stakeholders for prioritizing the project, describing it as a major boost to teaching and learning in the Hohoe Municipality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new school is expected to significantly strengthen secondary education delivery in the municipality and contribute to the broader development of the Volta Region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
