Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Hon. Sam George Nartey, has kicked off a regional tour of “Girls in ICT” training centres in the Volta Region, reaffirming government\u2019s drive to bridge the digital gender divide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Accompanied by the Volta Regional Minister, Hon. James Gunu, the Minister visited the Amissah-Arthur Learning Centre in Ohawu (Ketu North) and In My Father\u2019s House RC Basic School in Abor (Keta Municipal), where hundreds of girls are undergoing ICT training.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The visit formed part of efforts to monitor progress under the “Girls in ICT” initiative, which aims to train 3,000 girls across the Volta, Upper East, and Upper West Regions this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cA lot of girls are ready to learn ICT but there was no means,\u201d noted Hon. James Gunu. \u201cWe are truly grateful to the Minister for bringing this life-changing initiative to the Volta Region.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hon. Sam George encouraged the trainees to take full advantage of the opportunity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis training is your passport to a great future,\u201d he said. \u201cThe world of ICT is not meant for men alone. Take this seriously and let your destinies be transformed.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He further hinted at plans to double the number of trainees next year, underlining government\u2019s long-term commitment to digital inclusion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The delegation also interacted with the girls, offering guidance and motivation while distributing chocolates as a gesture of encouragement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The “Girls in ICT” initiative continues to serve as a springboard for young women into the tech space, equipping them with vital skills to thrive in Ghana\u2019s digital economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
