The road leading to the landing beach is in poor condition, making access difficult for traders, fisherfolk, and transport operators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The ferry (pontoon) which plies the Kpando\u2013Afram Plains route, is also in dire need of an upgrade. Currently, only one ferry is operational, and it runs on a single engine. Stakeholders are appealing for a new ferry and an additional engine to facilitate smooth transportation, especially on the long-distance routes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Former treasurer of the Boat Union Association, Agbenyegah Tsifodze, also noted that the hoarding of premix fuel has worsened the plight of fisherfolk. He stated that for the past eight years, premix fuel has been difficult to access, and prices increase whenever it becomes scarce, making fishing operations costly and unsustainable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additionally, the lack of a permanent landing site for the ferry has led to significant challenges in loading and offloading passengers and goods. Due to the poor conditions of the landing area, accidents have occurred, with two lives lost two years ago and another incident recorded last year. Stakeholders are pleading for a well-constructed and permanent landing beach to enhance safety and efficiency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In response to these concerns, the Volta Regional Minister, Hon. James Gunu, visited the Kpando Torkor landing beach today, March 16,&nbsp;<a href=\"tel:2025\">2025<\/a>, to assess the situation firsthand. His visit is expected to inform strategic interventions aimed at addressing the challenges and improving transportation and economic activities in the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-1 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img
