{"id":3087,"date":"2023-10-16T17:48:00","date_gmt":"2023-10-16T17:48:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/voltaregion.gov.gh\/?p=3087"},"modified":"2024-04-16T11:05:41","modified_gmt":"2024-04-16T11:05:41","slug":"safe-fish-handling-training","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/voltaregion.gov.gh\/index.php\/safe-fish-handling-training\/","title":{"rendered":"Safe Fish Handling Training"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>To increase the quality and value of artisanal fish products, maintain household&nbsp;income and enhance availability of nutritious foods for local and regional markets; a- one day training was carried out to build the capacity of Municipal\/District Environmental Health Officers and one additional staff each from the eighteen MDAs in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The objective of the training was to equip Environmental Health Practitioners to ensure that Seafood product quality, value, and nutritional benefits are enhanced and also inland and regional access to high quality and nutritious seafood expanded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;The resource person Mr. Emmanuel Kwarteng from Feed the Future took participants through the training. &nbsp;During the training, participants were engaged in a practical session where they were taken to the Ho central Market to carry out a market survey and also interact with the fish traders on the current ways fish was handled right from the source of harvest before it get to consumers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Participants were enthralled with the training and indicated their readiness to ensure that fish offered for sale is safe to the consumers.
