In line with the Mass Disinfection Exercise being carried out across the country under the auspices of the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development, the Hon. Volta Regional Minister, Dr. Archibald Yao Letsa, announced at a Press Conference held at the Conference Room of the Volta Regional Co-ordinating Council the simultaneous Mass Disinfection Exercise ( Fumigation Exercise) in 75 markets across the 18 Municipalities and Districts of the Volta Region. Dr. Letsa stated that the exercise would take place on Saturday, 4th April 2020, from 5:00am to 2:00pm and be carried out by Zoomlion Group of Companies which shall be assisted by other sprayers to be mobilised by the respective Assemblies.<\/p>\n\n\n\nhttps:\/\/web.facebook.com\/DrLetsa\/videos\/1595360853946407\/\n\n\n\n
Furthermore, all Lorry Parks, Shops, Stores, Restaurants, Chop Bars and other Businesses operating adjacent or close to the various markets shall suspend operations during the time of the exercise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
To ensure safety and smooth exercise, Dr. Letsa stated that the Security Agencies in the Region, NADMO and the National Ambulance Service shall play complementary roles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He therefore seized the opportunity to once again commend members of the Media for their continuous support for our efforts in ensuring a safe Region in the challenging time of the spread of Covid-19.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
