The Representative of the Volta Region on the Council of State and Founder of Nyonyo Agboada Foundation, Mr. Francis Albert Nyonyo Agboada has donated some medical equipment, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) worth about Ghc100, 000.00 to the Ho Teaching Hospital. At a short ceremony held at the Hospital the Hon. Volta Regional Minister, Dr. Archibald Yao Letsa, on behalf of Mr. Francis Albert Nyonyo Agboada, presented the donation to the Hospital. The items were received by the Director of Medical Services, Dr. Lord Mensah, on behalf of the hospital.

The items donated which were brought to the Hon. Volta Regional Minister by Mr. Clement Kofi Humado, the Hon. Member of Parliament for Anlo, on behalf of Mr. Agboada included, Health  ISO Video Laryngoscope, ISO Contec Patient Monitor, ISO Contec ECG Holter, Infrared Thermometer Guns, Disposal N95 Masks and Surgical Masks,  Veronica Buckets, Hand Washing Bowls, Hand Sanitizers, Liquid soaps and other detergents.

In a brief address prior to the presentation, the Hon. Volta Regional Minister expressed how honoured and privileged he felt to present the items to the Hospital on behalf of the Council of State Member. He stated that the donation was timely as it added to the thousands of supplies made to the various health facilities across the Region.

Dr. Letsa therefore expressed the appreciation of the Region to the Hon. Council of State Member and the Nyonyo Foundation for their support towards the fight against COVID-19 in the Volta Region.

He used the opportunity to state that the fact that facilities requested PPE support did not mean they ran out of stock.

He clarified that in the area of health-care delivery, no amount of resource provision was enough, which was why even developed countries with much more advanced health-care systems still welcomed support and donation of equipment including PPE.

Dr. Letsa concluded that since Mr. Agboada hails from the Anlo constituency, some of the items were to be given to the Anloga Health Centre and the Regional Director of Health would take delivery of the items meant for the health centre.

Mr. Clement Kofi Humado, the Hon. MP for Anlo on his part stated that the donation was to equip the “Soldiers of the COVID-19 fight, thus health personnel”, adequately and ensure they were well-protected to lead the country’s fight against the spread of the virus.

Dr.  Lord Mensah, who was happy about the donation, expressed the gratitude of the Hospital to the Council of State Member and his foundation.

He stated that the donation would further boost the morale of the staff of the hospital. He therefore assured that any patient who would be brought to the facility would be taken proper care of.
