On 9th September 2021, the Department of Gender with funding support from UNFPA organised a one-day stakeholder meeting with Community Watch Committees at Adidome in the Central Tongu District.

The meeting was to create awareness on the concept of gender, Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV), rights of the child, importance of Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health (ASRH) communication and to engender discussion on the responsibilities of various stakeholders.

Stakeholders present included traditional leaders, 6 Community Watch Committee leaders, an Assembly member, 2 Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) leaders, a Religious leader, a Herdsman.

Representatives of Ghana Education Service, (GES), Ghana Health Service (GHS), Department of Social Welfare (DSW), Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) and Domestic Violence and Victims Support Unit ( DOVVSU).

A total number of forty-three (43) participants made out of twenty-six (26) and seventeen (17) women were present.
