Twenty-five (25) staff of the Regional Public Works Department (PWD) have been taken through the completion of Staff Appraisal Forms by the Human Resource Department of the Volta Regional Coordinating Council (VRCC).

In opening the one-day training, the Chief Director of the VRCC             entreated the participants to cooperate with the facilitators and grasp the concept of performance management in the Local Government Services, particularly the staff appraisal process.

He further assured the participants of many more training programs to help boost their performance in the coming months.

On his part, the Acting Regional Director of the Department welcomed the initiative of the Chief Director to help train the staff of the VRCC on protocols of the Local Government Service.

Highlights of the training were the stages of the staff appraisal process; rewards and sanctions for performance; use of staff appraisal as a tool for identifying training needs of staff; and dos and don’ts of staff appraisal.

Participants expressed appreciation for the training opportunity and called for more training to help build their capacities on Local Government Protocols.
