The Volta Regional Department of Social Welfare led by the Regional Director monitored the 87^th LEAP Payment Cycle from the 21^st to the 22^nd of December, 2023.

The Regional Director was accompanied by Ms. Sena Esi Nyanyovor, the Regional Probation Officer, and Ms Joycelyn Lorlornyo Williams, an Assistant Social Development Officer to Afadzato South and Adaklu District Assemblies for the two days of monitoring.

The team observed that all stakeholders in the cash transfer process, comprising Payment Financial Institutions [PFIs], District Officers, Focal Persons, and LEAP Beneficiaries themselves together with their caregivers were very cordial.

The team visited a total of thirteen [13] payment points comprising twenty-three (23) communities in the two districts. At every payment point, the team briefed stakeholders present on the essence of the grant, the importance of Health Insurance as a complementary and important component of the LEAP Programed, the need for adequate care and protection for vulnerable households, and the need for secondary caregivers for all beneficiaries among others.
