IWD 2022: Department Of Gender Organizes Men’s Cook Art
As part of series of activities to mark the International Women’s Day, the Department of Gender organized all males cooking competition on Thursday 10th March, 2022 at the forecourt of the Volta Regional Coordinating Council (VRCC).
The programme was graced by the Regional Minister Hon. Dr. Archibald Yao Letsa and his wife Mrs. Victoria Letsa. The activity, which was aired on radio (Stone City Radio) was attended by institutions/departments within the Regional Coordinating Council and beyond. Session of students from Ho Anglican Basic School were also present for the occasion. Staff from the contesting institutions also came to render support to their directors and leaders in the anticipation of lifting the trophy of the best cook.
The occasion saw contestants from six institutions and departments namely; Department of Children/VRCC, Department of Agriculture, Ghana Journalists Association, Legal Aid Commission, Activista Volta, and ENE Empower.
It was also interesting to see the Regional Directors for Department of Agriculture, Legal Aid Commission and Department of Children in the contest representing their respective institutions.
The programme also saw “Young Urban Movement”, a youth activist group, performing an interesting drama titled “Unpaid Care Workers” to lighten up the place as contestants battled it out in their culinary skills.
At the end of the contest, Department of Children/VRCC were adjudged as the best cook.
Awards and certificates were also presented to all participants for availing themselves to support this great course of breaking the bias in our society.
