Hon. Regional Minister Receives Board Of Directors Of National Communications Authority
The Board of Directors of the National Communications Authority (NCA) has paid a courtesy call on the Hon. Volta Regional Minister, Dr. Archibald Yao Letsa as part of the Board’s familiarisation visit to the Ho Zonal Office of the Authority. The Chairman of the Board, Mr. Isaac Emil Osei-Bonsu Jnr., speaking on behalf of the Board expressed joy about the warm reception the Hon. Regional Minister extended to them.
He stated that the Board was on a familiarisation visit to the Ho Zonal Office which is an integral part of the Authority. He expressed the belief of the Board in empowering the Ho Zonal Office to articulate what the Authority stands for.
Mr. Osei-Bonsu Jnr. disclosed the Board’s readiness to ensure that the Ho Zonal Office is made one of the flagship zonal offices in line with the idea of empowering zonal offices which serve border areas.
Dr. Letsa who was elated at the presence of the Board in the Region, welcomed the Board on behalf of the Chiefs and people of the Region and the Volta Regional Co-ordinating Council.
He acknowledged and commended the authority for the edifice it has constructed as an office in Ho. He therefore expressed the hope that the necessary support would continue to be accorded the Ho Zonal Office to function more efficiently and effectively in order to become one of the flagship offices of the Authority as intended.
Dr. Letsa seized the opportunity to draw the attention of the Board to the poor telecommunication network coverage in parts of the Region and appealed to the Board to help address the situation. He indicated that a list of the areas in the region experiencing the poor network coverage would be made available to the Board through the Regional Director of the Authority.
In response, the Board Chairman stated that the Board would work assiduously to ensure the challenge is addressed.
Finally, Dr. Letsa seized the opportunity to inform the Board about the “Visit Volta Experience Ghana Campaign” being promoted through the Volta Trade and Investment Fair which is aimed at showcasing the Region for trade, investment and tourism.
