In a proactive move to elevate client service standards, the Regional Department of Community Development of the Volta Regional Coordinating Council, on the 22nd of January 2024 conducted a one-day training session on Client Service Management/Operations. The main objectives of the training were to enhance staff understanding of the current practices of client service management in the Local Government Service and to identify the gaps and best practices in current operations.

A total of seven 7 staff were present at the training including the Acting Regional Director of Community Development.  The one-day training featured a question-and-answer session after two concurrent presentations were clinched.

During the training, participants were taken through the various aspects of client service management, including handling visitors, handling of inquiries, handling of complaints, and feedback.

Furthermore, facilitation was carried out by the two client service representatives of the Regional Department as part of their task to extend the knowledge acquired from a one-day workshop conducted by the Local Government Service for client service staff of the Volta Regional Co-ordinating Council at the Residency on January 10, 2024.

Participants gained enhanced communication skills, equipped to engage with clients more effectively. They also gained proficiency in managing client expectations and resolving issues promptly.

Following the training, participants demonstrated a heightened awareness of client needs and preferences leading to more personalized and responsive service delivery. This proactive approach has not only strengthened client relationships but has also positioned the Client Service Units of various departments including the Department of Community Development as a leader in service excellence within Volta Regional Coordinating Council.

Finally, the Departmental Training on Client Service Management underscores the department’s commitment to continuous improvement and client-centricity. Moving forward, the principles and skills imparted during the training will continue to guide the department towards an even greater height of service excellence.
