Department Of Gender Participates In “Ambassador For A Day” Program
On Thursday 17th March, 2022, the Department of Gender Volta Region had the privilege to participate in an award ceremony for the “Ambassador for A Day” contest hosted by the British High Commissioner at her residence in Accra. The event was part of this year’s IWD activities by the British High Commission in partnership with the UNFPA. The Regional Director Mrs. Thywill Eyra Kpe and five mentees from the Volta Region under the UNFPA program, had the honour to participate in the event which also had in attendance female Canadian, French and Australian ambassadors.
In a different program, the UNFPA hosted some selected mentees present for the “Ambassador for A Day” program at the UNFPA Orange Loft of which mentees from the Volta Region were included.
The programme was to allow for these selected mentees of the UNFPA programme across the country to have interaction with the YoLe Fellows (Youth Leaders Fellowship).
There was a brief presentation by a fellow on how the YoLe came about and their objectives.
There was a mentorship session which saw experience sharing from all participants. The UNFPA Deputy Director and two other fellows also shared their experiences and how they are thriving and making it in their fields.
